RecommendMike Patton is someone who gets bored with music very quickly. He likes music with alot of changes involved. If it stays the same for too long you have lost Mike. Mr. Bungle is one of his many outlets to relieve his frustration with todays boring music and to show what can actually be attained. A side project for almost a decade now it has evolved into a bit of a cult favorite. This is their most tame offering yet but still keep your guard up as short bursts of noise come up unsuspectingly. Patton is really a musical genius with all his different styles. If you think this album is too tame for you then try his newer collective, The Fantomas.

I know no album better than this one and there are few I like more. These days it feels a little overplayed in my boombox, but I can still find little treats here and there each time I hear it.
It is my belief that everyone should listen to this cd at least a few times. Mike Patton not only tames two handfulls of genres on this album, he releases them in ways that make for times more wild than anything recorded by the famous innovators who gave him many of his templates. It is familiar and very new; comfortable until you realize there's no chorus. Check it out.
