It is a rare feat these days to fit 23 tracks onto a single CD but Winnipeg’s Malefaction achieve such a task. And to add to that, they could have fit a few more onto it. This group has been ripping up Canada’s metal scene since 1995 and show no signs of easing up. Their grind sound is indeed something that has been honed to a sharp blade. Their sound would be right at home with some of the releases on Equal Vision or Revelation. This album features such positely uplifting tracks like album opener “No Positive Impact, “Abused and Unloved, the amazing “Fuck The League for Life, “A Victim of Free Living, the short “Bled, and a whole cacophony of other loud slabs of hardcore. Malefaction isn’t for the faint at heart but if you are interested in getting into hardcore, the brief songs on Crush the Dream will appeal. “No Sympathy! Technically, there is nothing better in Canada right now.
