The verdict is still out on whether or not Earth Crisis is as influential as people have been saying but one thing you can count on with an Earth Crisis album is some damn heavy music. They hover between Hardcore and Metal not really commiting to either but taking the brutallity of both to forge their own sound. After last years awesome Slither album the band has taken a step back to cover some their main influences. Last of The Sane kicks of with a killer version of Slayer's "Hell Awaits" and then power right into Led Zep's "Wanton Song". And my fav is their powerful version of Black Sabbath's "Children of the Grave". Vocalist Karl Buechner has never sounded better. Also, for your listening pleasure, Earth Crisis blow the Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black" all to hell. They kick off one of the best versions of the DK's track "Holiday In Cambodia". Don't fret cuz there are 4 great originals on Last of the Sane. Influential or not, Earth Crisis still know how to kick out some hard rocking music.
