This new metal band has hit the ground running. Earthbound Smoke Ghost has just dropped this five song ep on the unsuspecting and is about to make quite a splash in the metal and hard rock world. I know lead singer Pheroze will probably hate this comparison but he totally reminds me of Glenn Danzig. Earthbound Smoke Ghost gets quite a bit heavy than Danzig has yet but when they slow down, especially on “Black Saturn�. You even get a bit of a Type O Negative feel on that one. At time ESG gets a bit gothic in their styling and they can also groove. Check out the lead track “Asphalt Green� for the groove -infected example. The Ghost can also fit in right alongside the stoner rock genre with their hazy feel. This is a band that will be scooped up in no time by one of many metal labels. They have a lot of talent and aren’t afraid to hurt any eardrums that get in their way.
