Drowningman like to have the best of both worlds. On Drowningman Still Loves You they take their hardcore with doses of melody to the next logical step, more intensity as well as more melodies. I remember when I first heard their debut EP. I was blown away at how intense they could be and still incorporate a hearty harmonic melody into their songs. Still Loves You makes the melody a little more forefront. Don’t get me wrong. They still bash you silly with the heavy sections of the songs. This is dynamic metal at its finest. Simon Brody’s vocals are proven to take the test with the growls turning into sung passages. The rest of the band is in fine form here with intelligent time changes and equally pounding heavy assaults. For those people who shy away from hardcore to the pummeling vocals would do good to check out Drowningman. They do provide the best of both worlds.
