While not one of the most original stoner rock / metal slabs that I have heard Burnout does have some merits that deserve recognition. My first problem with Thundertits is that the production is muddy. I know a lot of these bands are going for the fuzz but take lessons from the likes of Kyuss in production; crystal clear but thunderous bottom end. Burnout does have plenty of talent when it comes to the musicianship. Their bass player really sticks out in a lot of tracks while he thumps along with the rhythm. That’s not to say that the rest of the band isn’t up to par. There is dual guitar attack that really leads to some string dexterity. There are a couple songs that stand out on Thundertits, one of them being the track cleverly entitled “6ft of Piss�. Burnout is a young band. I believe that Thundertits is actually their first release. Kudos also goes out to the artist called Malleus for the very cool cover art.
