I have yet to see the movie but You Can Count On Me was an award winning show at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival. The music is also award winning if not altogether new. You can more or less consider this a label compilation of Steve Earle's E-Squared moniker. With Earle contributing 5 tracks from his Del McCoury sessions you really can't go wrong. Let alone all the other great E2 bands like the V-Roys, the now defunct 6 String Drag, Bap Kennedy, Cheri Knight, and Marah. The contrast with the old bluegrass stylings of the McCoury sessions and the young guns of E-Squared really goes well. One of my favorite tracks on here, "Amy 88" by the V-Roys really rocks. Be sure to check out this soundtrack (and movie if you get a chance) and find out what Steve Earle has up his sleeve and under his wing.
