Kevin Welch is back with his follow-up to 1999’s Beneath My Wheels. This time around, Kevin must be feeling pretty rich with an album entitled Millionaire. It is his third album on his own Dead Reckoning label and ends up being a little more gritty and rockier than some of his other releases. His voice is still as strong as ever as shown on the opening title track and the rocking “I Can Sure Love You�. His songwriting shines on Millionaire as well. He saves the best songs for himself but has sold tracks to Trisha Yearwood, Ricky Scaggs, Reba McEntire, and others. He makes use of a Copenhagen Denmark group of musicians called the Danes. They are a treat to listen to. He has chosen to cover Van Morrison’s “Queen of the Slipstream� and make it his own. Kevin Welch is a singer/songwriter that makes the genre a pleasure to review. He is one of America’s top songwriters and Millionaire proves that once again.
