RecommendI just recently rediscovered this band (don't you love it when shit like that happens). This really cool Americana band gets its name from the Stanley Brothers tune "5 String Drag". They throw all sorts of ingredients into the mix such as R&B, pop, country, folk, and even punk (lead man Kenny Roby was once frontman of a punk band). Just imagine Elvis Costello singing for the Flying Burrito Brothers and you just might be there. Smart lyrics + amazing musicians = one fine album. It is unfortunate that High Hat happens to be their last effort.
