Imagine a Canadian band trying their best at a Radiohead style and adding a Canadian twist to Radiohead's sweeping epics. Now drop that and forget about any Radiohead comparisons. The only thing the same is the "Radio" in their names. Radiogram is a band from Vancouver, BC and have come up with quite an album of quiet Americana stylings. There are times when Radiogram remind of the Jayhawks and then others where they sound more laid back like Clem Snide. They also manage to pack on the layers of orchestration as Lambchop is known for. Radiogram's main singer / songwriter, Ken Beattie comes off sounding very heartfelt and sincere and the songs that he creates are amazing. Shelley Campbell plays the Emmylou Harris part, with her beautiful voice, while backing Ken up. I vote that Ken gives up his other band (The Emptys) and stays focused with this group of hazy Americana musicians. Another whiskey anyone?
