Izdatso consists of one solo artist named Bernie Swell from France. On the cover of Izdatso’s debut album Nutone writes “A Journey through electronica, from ambient pop and drum ‘n’ bass to darker downtempo�. Let’s see what Izdatso holds for an unsuspecting listener such as myself. The album opens with “Western Nights� which is a driving house track with a totally twangy guitar as the main focus as well as a beautiful female voice weaving in and out. I read somewhere where Izdatso was said to be “Fairy Tale Drum n Bass�. It seems like a totally fit description. Don’t let that scare you away because this is some of the best electronica to come out in quite some time. Bernie manages to keep consistent but able to change it up enough to keep it interesting. It reminds me a bit of Underworld and what they have been up to lately. From what I can tell, Izdatso’s first single was “Inner Lie� which is an amazing track with a bit of skipping beat with another great female vocal over top complete with many samples. One of my favorite electronica albums so far this year.
