Imagine if you will, you are sent an album by a group called At The Drive-In. The album comes to you from Grand Royal and the title is Relationship of Command. The group is familiar to you but you haven’t really listened to them. You throw on the disc and are immediately blown away by the intense hard rock that follows. Almost like nothing you have ever heard before. You start to notice the band becoming more and more popular, every band's dream. Next you hear rumours of this great bands demise. O, sad day. For those of you who were like me and have gone back to pick up all At The Drive-In’s back catalog then you will relish in Sparta. Sparta is 3/4 of At The Drive-In and they have a very similar mandate, to rock. Mind you Austere is a little more experimental for these guys. A test if you will to see how the public reacts to their new slightly changed sound. Don’t worry because as soon as the album opener “Mye hits your ears you will realize that this is the next logical step for this talented group of musicians. Just a teaser but it should hold me over until Dreamworks releases Sparta’s full-length.
