Solarized jump back to their killer sound with their new album, Driven. If you didn’t have the pleasure of hearing their 1999 debut Neanderthal Speedway on Man’s Ruin records then you may not be ready for what Solarized have to offer. They take the crunchy sounds that Kyuss and Monster Magnet do so well and polish them up to their own sound. Jim Hogan and his crew borrow a lot from many stoner rock bands but still manage to sound very unique in all that they do. Don’t believe me then check out “Dig The Ride and sit back while they take you into their world. I haven’t heard anything this good and “Driven since Che hit me with their really cool sounds. You may recognize Hogan’s name from his former band The Jersey Devils in which him and Reg Santana were members. Now they are on to bigger and heavier things that kicks ass. They do a cool cover of “Stab your back by the Damned and make it sound like a Misfits track. Driven is one of the genre’s best albums to date and there are no signs of Solarized packing it in.
