Ahhh, the sweet sounds of true country. This is a nice little slab of retro country. Jim and Jennie and the rest of their gang take you back to when bluegrass was abundant (unlike today where you have to hunt high and low for a quality recording). This album is the second by this crew and although I haven't heard the first I can't imagine it being much better than Little Birdie. This really is a great bluegrass album in the vein of true BG pioneers like Bill Monroe and Flatt & Scruggs. The band takes on appropriate covers as well as timeless songs that are written by the band. The band is most definitely from the past and one listen of Little Birdie will have you convinced of that as well. Be sure and have this on hand for your next hoedown!
