One of the best English bands to ever make it in North America was the Small Faces. Long forgotten about but a band that should always be present in the rock history books. How many times have you heard their brilliant "Itchycoo Park" tried unsuccessfully. It's sad because that is the only song that they are remembered for (included on this great compilation). Steve Marriott was the brains behind this band. He managed to get a quartet pulled together and actually made a go of it in the UK. While their heyday was from 1966 with the release of their self-titled debut to 1968 with their Ogden's Nut Gone Flake album, which was very sadly overlooked for it's psychedilc tones. Although, their 1968 album,There are but Four Small Faces, was the album that hit big across the waters with the aformentioned single. Listening to this compilation today, one can't help but wonder why the magic of this four-piece was lost along the way. Rediscover one of rocks missing gems. This compilation does a fine job of filling the details with it's 18 tracks.
