Sloan - Between The Bridges
Where Sloans last album had a little more edge to it, this one levels off and hooks you again with every possible hummable guitar riff. As the album moves along you can hear how the band has matured over the years. All three songwriters/vocalists have plateaued (lets wait for the next album) and they are on such a high note. As Sloan experiments with throwing a little more blues into their sound the result will be like "Waiting for the soul" and "Sensory Depravation". This is power-pop at it's finest. If you have never heard Sloan, this would be a great album to introduce you to them and work your way back. Another first rate album by one of Canada's leading exports.
