Most would agree most popular artists out there have something truly special to give to their fans. This goes above the typical attributes like raw talent, amazing songs, nice voice, or even a very marketable look, sound and image. There's something truly infectious at the core of these artists that simply makes us feel good when we listen to them. Whatever "it" is - they all seem to have "it".

Today I listened to the latest self titled CD entitled "The Lions" from Los Angeles based duo Flowerglass released in 2012. From start to finish this latest CD from Trevor Smith and Scarlet Moreno is a very pleasurable experience. It has a very College Rock quality to it and even dabbles in Folk and traditional Indie Rock. Any fans of any of these many musical styles will enjoy this latest release from these 2. It's clearly marketed for those who like the male and female/male fronted vocal tandem. The music has a mystique of say Jenny and Tyler, Sleeping at Last, and Joshua James. Smith holds his own on vocals and delivers via an array of musical instrumentation. Moreno just adds fuel to the fire with her marketable Americana look and infectious voice and persona. These 2 are is clearly rolling with what they knows as performers. Favorite tracks include It Takes a Dream to Kill a Dream, Summer Wind Descedent and Graceland.

All pieces have an amazing warm feel and inviting vibe and feel. Within each one of these compositions these 2 find their musical soul and deliver. Smith's musicianship is spot on and just makes the whole CD even more enjoyable. All in all one of the best CDs I've heard so far this year.

I see Flowerglass as a strong up and coming act. If the masses tap into this love potion in motion it could be huge. As time goes by he will no doubt refine and fine-tune their overall sound and musical personality. I am eager to hear what his next release will sound like. In close most famous artists out there have "it" I'm not so sure what it but Flowerglass definitely has whatever "it" is.

For the record I've only given a 10 star rating to a small handful of artists.
