Moka Only is an ultra-smooth rapper that is about ready to take on the world. Moka takes many lessons from the cool collective De La Soul and is able to make the smooth rap sounds seem legit for this new millennium. Lime Green isn’t the first we have seen or heard from Moka Only. He hit us hard with Len’s breakthrough album You Can’t Stop The Bum Rush. He has found a great home on Vancouver-based label Battle Axe (home of the superb Swollen Members) and Lime Green proves that Moka is indeed ready to hit us with his own flavors of rap. The album kicks of with one of the strongest and indicative songs on the album, “Magnitude. He gets some help from some of his friends but in all essence Moka is strongest when he is on his own. He easily manages to fuse his jazz influences with his hip-hop and make it super-listenable. For you gansta rap fans out there, you should stay clear of Moka Only because he may infect you with some taste.
