It must have been hard being an Undertone. Once "Teenage Kicks" had rocked everybody's world, any track the band put out afterwards was destined always to lurk in the shadow of its predecessor. And yet, "Get over You" is, in its own way, almost as good a song. Fast-paced, it follows on from "Teenage Kicks" perhaps in that the sense that the relationship has broken up. Feargal Sharkey is lamenting a lost love and does it in two minutes of pure pop pleasure. Done. Dusted. Now let's go for a beer. It is a pity the Undertones couldn't sustain this, but I guess they had to move on from this style of punk as they were never likely to repeat "Teenage Kicks" and had to cease trying.
