Allen Dobb is a country musician living in the harbor town of Victoria BC. He got his cowboy roots from here in Alberta but has pretty much lived all over the world. He has even spent time on stages in Austin and Nashville. You may recall the duo Dobb and Dumela. This was Allen in an early version. Allen Dobb’s country music has come a long way and is very refreshing. It’s got enough folk elements in it to make it seem honest but it still has a polished sheen to it. The songs are very heartfelt and are all penned by Dobb himself, something that is fairly rare in country music. He takes inspiration from his life experiences and manages to give the listener a great sense of the landscapes and people he has met. Again, this is a rare talent that not many songwriters have. Bottomland should give Allen Dobb some well deserved exposure. I’m also told that his music is best in person, so watch for him live in your town.
