This is one single I have not got. Thankfully, all three songs off the single are now available on YouTube and two of them appear on the much less rare "Glass Arcade" compilation. Only 2000 copies of the single were released and it was the sole release by the band which lasted less than a year before splitting up. Christian Savill, the front man, went from here to Slowdive and took his musical vision with him. Listen closely to the tracks on this single and you will hear the similarities - Sleep was part of Slowdive's early live set while "Take Me Down" is the same melody as appears on one of Slowdive's early B-Sides.
As you might expect from reading thus far, this is an early incarnation of shoegaze and dream pop. It has all the hallmarks of Slowdive without the finesse. The production is a bit fuzzy at times (as were almost all Sarah records) but that should not detract from what is a fine single. The title track and "Sleep" are well nigh on classics of their time, dreamy and warm with layers of sound. It is a pity Eternal didn't do more stuff but if you like Slowdive, the Pale Saints or Chapterhouse then I suggest you check out this.
