After singing with such bands as Beat Farmers and Soul Syndicate in San Diego, Brigitte Demeyer decided to try it herself. What she proves is that she is a worthy songwriter herself. Her songs are all very well crafted and after a couple listens you find yourself easily singing along with her rootsy style. Brigitte fits into a southern style of No Depression playing. In fact the last song on the album, “Horse Hunk wouldn’t sound out of place on an Allman Brothers album. Although this album is only 8 tracks deep you will still find many rewards on it. Demeyer’s vocals are very appealing and strong not unlike Bonnie Raitt’s. If nothing else, Brigitte may find her songs being covered by some more prominent artists. They are superbly crafted.
