Paul Chastain and Rick Menck, who were the Bag-o-Shells, began their musical careers as a jangle pop due in between featuring with bands such as the Springfields, the Stupid Cupids and Velvet Crush. This was their first single release and preceded their final one by some four years.
There is a great tune lurking in "Markers" somewhat spoilt by rather dodgy production. The guitars are not as clear as they ought to be and the vocals, especially the backing vocals, are indistinct. Nonetheless, this is noteworthy as one of the few American releases which could genuinely be called C86 a peculiarly British take on jangle pop.
