By now Eddie and the Hot Rods had stopped calling themselves that and started calling themselves the Rods. It was under this name that this single was released. A track which still holds as good today as it did when first released. Right from the start you are into that twin guitar led attack and it never lets up. For many, this is the epitome of the solid, driving punk rock of the first wave of 1977. The song has a drive and an energy all its own, and even when Ed Hollis's vocals appear to flag a bit towards the end of the final stanza, the sheer power of the band keeps him going. Naturally, with title like "Do Anything You Wanna Do " and a rant about adults were telling you what to do all the time, this was bound to be an anthem of teenage rebellion.
