Michael Hutchence came to dominate Aussie pop-rock outfit INXS as much as Jim Morrison did the Doors, and for much the same reasons. "Original Sin" was probably their biggest hit and the one which brought them to the attention of the public outside of Australia and New Zealand. It was also, for its time, somewhat controversial in that it dealt openly with the theme of love across races and the hopes and expectations of the white girl and the black boy about whom the song was sung. In that sense it took on an iconic status far beyond any technical merit intrinsic to the music. If you are looking for good eighties pop with a message to boot, you can't do better than this.
