One of the better singles put out by Talking Heads, a band who were never known for issuing radio friendly work. David Byrne's voice may have made him a darling of the avant-garde set, but was just too odd for the mainstream. This song strikes out at the materialism which is even more prevalent today than when the song was written, and asks that most pertinent of all rhetorical questions to the world-destroyer
My God, what have I done?
I guess we could use a little more of that nowadays. Thankfully, this is a track which has lasted the years well.
