Most would agree most popular artists out there have something truly special to give to their fans. This goes above the typical attributes like raw talent, amazing songs, nice voice, or even a very marketable look, sound and image. There's something truly infectious at the core of these artists that simply makes us feel good when we listen to them. Whatever "it" is - they all seem to have "it".
Today I listened to the latest CD from New Yorks own Lisa Bianco (Momentum - 2011). Venturing to the internet and reading her bio I get the impression this is one gal who is extremely passionate and experienced about the songwriting craft. From start to finish this CD from LB is a very pleasurable and entertaining statement. It has a very up-front and personal approach to it and even dabbles in Rock, Alternative Rock and Pop. Any fans of any of these musical styles will enjoy this latest release from LB and I might add the CD sounds very radio friendly. This latest work is clearly marketed for those who like a female singer with a mystique of say a Natalia Imbruglia, Fiona Apple and Sheryl Crow and even Joan Jett. I get the impression LB and companies are just rolling with what they know as a band within all these songs. In other words she hits the mark remarkably well just by being who she is. Favorite tracks include (Erase You), (No Doubt about It). All songs possess an amazing feel. The songwriting digs a bit deeper than the next artist. The band is spot on and just makes the whole CD more enjoyable. Kudos goes out to the impressive vocal presence of Bianco she is more a rock start that a pop star. Trust me when I say he is a marquee talent within this project. If she just so happen wrote all these songs then she could be bigger than any us realize at the moment. The overall vibe of the production is very passionate and reckless in nature.
I see Bianco as a diamond in the rough. What do they got that Sheryl Crow don't got - Nothing. Every song is amazing, the musicianship is spot on and Lisa Bianco can dish it out. I can't hear any noticeable weaknesses worth mentioning - besides not being as long as other professional CDs within the genera however I will add this is one action packed 30+ minutes. In close most famous artists out there have "it" I'm not so sure what it but S&M Featuring Ed Woodruff has whatever "it" is.
