The Godfather of Soul - what a stupid title to give anyone! Still, James Brown had a longer career and more hits than any other contemporary soul artist. His personal energy, his charisma and his distinctive style nonetheless mark him out as a colossus among soul singers. And this is just such a good song. It has that intense, get up and dance feel to it, and yet is restrained at the same time. Driven by a sharp sax, this is one single that everybody has heard and everybody should love to get up and dance to. Pure sixties magic doesn't often come in better packages than this.
