As we bid adeiu to one of alt-country’s most enduring and entertaining bands, they drop us their farewell live album entitled Tonight It’s Now Or Never. When Cary Hudson and the rest of the group decided to call it quits, many fans were saddened. It does help to know that Cary is continuing on his own, releasing a solo album and touring. Blue Mountain recorded this album at a club in Chicago called Schuba’s on March 11, 2001. There are 21 tracks on the album spanning the groups decade long career as well as some alternatives. It’s a strong live album that showcases each member’s talents. Blue Mountain is cabable of raw rockers or laid back ballads. Either style, they are at home with. Cary’svoice is unique and lends itself nicely to the Blue Mountain catalog. This double disc serves as a worthy document to a live Blue Mountain show. My only regret is not being able to see this band live.
