After Peter Gabriel left the band, Genesis became even more unbearable to me as they tried to bring prog rock to the mainstream masses - something which was doomed to fail. The fact that Phil Collins struck out on a solo career around the same time, and became virtually indistinguishable from the creature Genesis metamorphosed into made it all the more nauseating. This track signalled the start of that process and was a heartfelt song from Phil Collins about the break-up of his marriage. Be that as it may, what makes this worth having is that wonderfully sharp piano line. But God does it sound dated now!
