This was pretty much the first single by Simply Red which came out. At the time, the band seemed like something of a breath of fresh air. They seemed to bring together some soul-inspired music delivering good ballads. Sadly, that did not last. When all is said and done, this was their best track. But it actually was not up to much when you look back at it. Mick Hucknall may have had a great voice, but he quickly drifted into mainstream-acceptable music. In the end, the band is all about Mick Hucknall, a man who deserves credit for convincing so many people that he really is as good as his ego makes him out to be.
