RecommendI really hate to promote these types of mixes but, in all reality, Jamdown is one of the only labels that are staying on top of the Reggae, Soca, and Dancehall styles that are coming out. This particular mix would be a bit better if it wasn’t promoting itself all throughout. You can hear a particular MC chanting between tracks “That’s right. Reggae Xplosion 2001. Jamdown come down� etc. There is also an annoying phazer type sound that comes through every once and a while. The playlist reads like the best of the best in today’s reggae though. Represented here are Beres Hammond, Tanto Metro & Devonte, Capelton, and Elephant Man among many others. The mix is good but the production could have used a bit more work. It ends up being a little low on the EQ levels but as I was saying, it’s hard to find some of this music. If you can put up with the Reggae Xplosion MC coming in between tracks than you will enjoy this mix.
