Ramah Sakit returns with their follow-up to their self-titled CD that came out a couple of years back. If you are unfamiliar with these guys you should be ashamed. This is one of the coolest post-rock/math-rock/instrumental-rock that I have heard in ages. Rumah Sakit make Tortoise look like amateurs. Their complicated song structures and time signatures are sometimes a tough navigation but if and when you make it through, you feel like you just had a refreshing cold shower and you can look at the world in a different light. Not only are the songs getting to be more intricate and delicate, they are also becoming even more listenable. Not music to sit down and get into but something to put on in the background with your favorite book or trying to get caught up with work. It’s amazing the way they can teeter on the edge of falling apart and bring the song back like on the title track. Some of the other brilliantly titled tracks are “No One Likes a Grumpy Cripple� and “Sausage Full of Secrets�. Jazz fans will enjoy this album as will fans of Tortoise and Don Caballero.
