Christina Rosenvinge has never previously recorded in English. She was a latin pop mistress weaving her magical voice around her Latin hit singles. She is now ready to take music seriously and get a little more personal. She definitely go thooked up with the right crowd by recording her last Latin album with Sonic Youth's guitarist, Lee Ranaldo. She stayed in touch with the SY camp and when they were doing their Two Dollar Guitar project they thought Christina would compliment it. After she moved to New York to perform with TDG the SY gang talked her into doing her own thing. The Frozen Pool sessions had begun in early 2000. This is a very emotional affair and you can feel all the heart and soul Christina put into the album. Wouldn't be hard after doing the soul-less pop thing for so long. Lee and Steve Shelley are found playing on the album. For her first American release Christina has done a bang up job and has chosen the right group of musicians to succeed with.
