Swedish electronic pop band, Little Dragon, recently released their third album, Ritual Union. I almost feel as though they are more confident in this album. Lead singer, Yukimi Nagano, continues to taunt you with her sexy vocals.
The album opens up with Ritual Union. If you never heard of Little Dragon, I recommend this song to be your first, as the upbeat energy that instantly captures your attention. Even if the lyrics are against marriage, one cannot help but be mesmerized by Naganos sweet voice.
The bold percussion and tantalizing beats seems to take a break mid album. In Crystalfilm, Nagano asks, Who is sneaking in, is sneaking in on me? The song is sensual and is a refreshing change from the previous tracks. This is definitely one of my top tracks on Ritual Union. The lead single, Nightlight, which belongs in an old school video game, has potential to be a dance floors anthem in the Lower East Side.
Ritual Union is an album you will find yourself consistently coming back to when you get into the groove. It is an album that deserves to be listened to in order, and definitely in its entirety. I hope one day to walk into an underground dance club and hear Ritual Union as the soundtrack of the night.
