An off-cut from the "In Rock" sessions, this turned out to be a surprise hit in an age when mainstream UK radio did not play rock music. The mainstream was obsessed with the sweet sounds of long haired girls singing soppy ballads, not long haired boys singing about motorbikes, or whatever. No way was the mainstream going to tolerate those long-haired, drug-taking hippies. Hypocrites all.
But just give it a listen. It still sounds as good today as it did when it first came out, and there are very few Deep Purple tracks, particularly of this era, you can honestly say that about.
