Lightweight bubblegum pop which has an appeal for about as long as it is being played. The scope for making inane comments about this song and the potential rhymes and puns which can be associated with it is boundless. The wolf-whistling every time the name of the girl is mentioned dates the song quite obviously to an era before political correctness. And yet, for all its obvious flaws there is something charming, something endearing about it. Maybe it is that it reminds me of a simpler time, not necessarily a better one, but a simpler one. The breezy naivety just seems to be something refreshing when compared with so much doom-laden stuff which comes out these days.
Oh, and does anybody know anyone actually called Jennifer Eccles? If so, how does she like this song? Ill bet she hates it.
