Today I listened to the latest CD from Canadian singer/songwriter Molly Thomason (Beauty Queen  2011). Venturing to her website it is a very professional presentation showing this is her debut release. From start to finish this CD from Thomason is very pleasurable. It has a very soothing acoustical quality to it, & even dabbles in Folk, hooky pop, & Alternative Rock. Any fans of any of these musical styles will enjoy this latest release from Thomason. Its clearly marketed for those who like a female singer with a mystique of say a Sheryl Crowe, Leann Rimes & Jessica Simpson I get the impression Thomason is just rolling with what she knows as a performer. In other words I get the impression she is having fun with this CD. Favorite tracks include Track 1 (All Down the Highway), Track 2 (Shine in the Dark), Track 8 (Beauty Queen). Within each one of these compositions Thomason finds his soul & delivers the musical mojo. Her band is spot on & just makes the whole CD even more enjoyable. The overall vibe is upbeat, positive & invigorating.

I see Thomason as a diamond in the rough. As time goes by she will no doubt refine & fine-tune her overall sound & musical personality a bit. I am eager to hear what her next release will sound like. In close most famous artists out there have it Im not so sure what it but Molly Thomason has whatever it may be.
