I don’t know if it’s because the new Lungfish is taking so long to come out but Daniel Higgs and Asa Osborne have come up with a new project entitled The Pupils. The band got their start when they were asked to play an acoustic set in Baltimore for 15 minutes for an art opening entitled “Itinerant with photographs by Cynthia Connolly, Lely Constantinople and Anonia Tricarico. Obviously they enjoyed what they did. While not quite as aggressive or loud as Lungfish, the Pupils are still on that sort of thought pattern. What we end up with is a little more minimalistic rock that at the most has two guitars and some sort of percussion along with Daniel’s very recognizable voice. Lungfish fans will salivate at the chance to hear Dan Higgs up close and personal. The Pupils should also appeal to a wider audience than Lungfish too.
