This is one of the ultimate power-pop albums if not bands of all time. After their breakup last year (I have heard rumour that a couple of them are reuniting to do an acoustic Posies tour already) I sat back an went through all their fantastic catalog and came up with Dear 23 as my favorite. It just seems to pull together all the great elements of '60s styled pop with '90s intelligence and fabulous production thanks to John Leckie paired with the lush harmonies and arangements the band is known for. The songwriting team of Ken Stringfellow and Jon Auer should go down beside many other greats. If I had to pick any favorite, they're all great, I would have to say the epic "Flood Of Sunshine" for it's ability to seemingly go on forever and still remain beautiful. A must for any power-pop fan.
