The video for this song used to show up on ATV in Hong Kong as filler in between programmes when they couldn't find enough advertisers. I shall always remember it because it showed all these people, lounging around, doing slow-motion dance moves in a pseudo-erotic manner. Lots of people smiling and Janet Jackson lounging serenely on a white Ottoman smoothly crooning over the background with a face which suggested she was either nearly asleep, stoned or both. I remember thinking when I first watched it that she would probably say about the video that everyone felt so good, felt so in the mood, felt so calm and relaxed and how it all came together just right during the filming.
Then I saw an interview with her some time later where she said about the video that everyone felt so good, felt so in the mood, felt so calm and relaxed and how it all came together just right during the filming. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, seriously. The woman has become a parody of herself, not that she was ever much more than someone who rode the coat tails of her more famous (and more talented) brother.
Talk about boring, predictable, soporific. The song is sleep-inducing; the video awful and Janet Jackson is just trading off her brother's name. She should give up and just rest on her millions, leaving the rest of us free from any further assaults on our good taste and credulity.
