If you were living in the Louisville, KY area in the early 90’s you may recognize the name Tim Furnish. He helped to cultivate a flourishing scene with his rock sextet Cerebellum, whose various members went on to such influential bands as Crain, Rodan, Matmos, Papa M, Kilowatthours and Sunspring. Now he has decided to come out of the woodwork once again and we are in for another brilliant treat. His new band is called Parlour and he has recruited some very apt musicians to create the wonderful instrumental sounds that Parlour plays. Octopus Off-Broadway was recorded over a four year period in home studios and on the album Tim has managed to create some very interesting musical verses that are very mellow and yet maintain a certain groove about them. Just before monotony sets in Tim switches things up and grabs your attention once again. Parlour has create one of those albums that every listen you find something you missed the first time making it a better album after each listen.
