One can tell the talent that this little collective possess because even their rarity material is brilliant. Emperor Norton ** They enjoy inventing new creative orchestration very similar to what the Beatles were doing years before. The band is not afraid to try anything and use any instrument along with crazy samples of non-specific noises. This particular album was culminated of mostly pre-Dusk at Cubist Castle material and you can hear that the band had already reached the sound that they were happy with. Most of these tracks could easily fit on either one of their proper full lengths. Some of the tracks are crazy tape loops and sampling and others are just perfect intrumentational experiments that are pure genius. People unsuspecting of Olivia Tremor Control's psych potential will wonder just what the band was on when they created these pieces but long time fans will once again appreciate the brilliance of this collective.
