In the late seventies, Bob Dylan went through a strange phase. He converted to Christianity and started behaving like a guitar playing version of Cliff Richard. Whether this was a direct result, or a tangential coincidence, but his music also began to suffer at the same time. Most of his stuff from around this era was indescribably bad. "Baby Stop Crying" formed what was probably the best track from Dylan's output from a period which he would probably rather forget. It comes across as a heartfelt plea, though whether there is any autobiographical element to it, I have no idea. And this was another single where the B-Side was bloody awful.
