Squeeze probably never got the credit they deserved when they were at their prime in the late seventies and early eighties. That is a pity because they wrote some really good pop songs, although at times they may have seemed a little edgy by the standards of that era. "Take Me I'm Yours" was their debut single and it was as good a one as any to start off a singles career. Though perhaps not as clever as some of their later singles, such as "Cool for Cats" or "Up the Junction", it was still catchy and smart. Even though it is pretty heavy on the sysnthesiser, it has still stood the test of time well.
