Piotr Fijalkowski is not a name which will be easily recalled by many, but he was the vocalist and one quarter of a band which promised so much in the early nineties but eventually were let down by themselves and the music business they despised Adorable. When Adorable imploded, Pete (yes Pete) set off and formed Polak. "Impossible" was the closest the new band had to a hit. It is as different from Adorable as you could imagine gone are the walls of shattering multi-layered guitars. But shoegaze was dead and Britpop was dying. "Impossible" however does retain the trademark vocal style, almost plaintiff, of Fijalkowski, and is a lighter, even poppier number. But Fijalkoski had no more success with Polak than he did with Adorable. Sad really.
