As the world borders fall down all around us, music is becoming even more of an international language. Take the music from North Africa and the Middle East; it is now being listened to as far as Brazil, India, Paris and London in trend-setting nightclubs. Putumayo has gathered many of the artists that are spearheading this revolution in Arabian music with their new collection, Arabic Groove. They have collected artists from Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, and Libya. It doesn’t even matter that you don’t speak the language. Music is the language and all you need to know is how to dance. This is a groovy mix complete with a remix by international stars, Transglobal Underground of Dania’s “Leiley�. In the US Arabian music, as with many other international styles, is bubbling under the mainstream and sees playtime in many a reputable club. Arabic Grove is your roadmap and introduction to this style of music. Putumayo has again done extensive research into this style of music and you get it all with the liner notes that accompany Arabic Groove.
