I won this single in a radio competition. If I had not I cannot think of any reason why I would have it in my collection. Mediocre, run-of-the-mill rock is the best way to describe it. The band have the typical pose of a bunch of musicians brought together to try to make an impression on the singles market - a combination of well-known (within the trade anyway) session musicians plus a few cast offs from Mott the Hoople. Dress this up in mock-patriotism and there you have it. A recipe for success? A new direction for Glam Rock, perhaps. The very description promises a level of mediocrity and banality it is hard to contemplate now. It never inspired me and I keep it just because, well, I have it. Not surprisingly, this band never made any impression at all on anything.
