The Angel not only defies gravity, she also defies boundaries. What Angel does is create some very cool cross genre music that is very groovy and contains elements of hip hop, trip hop, electronica and jazz. You may recognize her alias as a member of Jaz Clash or 60 Channels or you might have seen her name in some production credits. Even if you haven’t seen her previously you will want to take notice of No Gravity. It is a fine album with many contributors such as Divine Styler and The Pharcyde’s Tre Hardson among others. What the Angel ends up with her is an album that has just enough hip hop thrown in her trip hop to make for something extremely new and exciting. It has enough urban appeal to make it street credible while enough beats to make the electronica fan drool. Angel adds a dub feel to most of the songs making the overtone very dark. The guest artists are a plus but The Angel could have pulled this off on her own without all the big players. She is a great producer and No Gravity proves that she is completely a forward thinker. Watch for her music on the new TV show Six Feet Under.
