I have never been a fan of what in America is called hardcore , or any of its spin offs for that matter such as the wonderfully named pigfuck . Perhaps it was because my frenetic punk days were past when this sort of music became big. I downloaded half a dozen tracks off Big Black's "Songs About Fucking" album (surely one of the best album titles ever, to check out whether my opinion had changed.
It hadn't.
Having said that, I did like this cover of Kraftwerk's " The Model" , which featured as the B-side to this single. So I kept it. It retains enough of the original to be appealing yet is different enough to make it engaging. A band who can turn an electronic classic into a guitar thrash has got to be worth something.
